One month until CPF Toronto!

Updated: Apr 14, 2022

We are now one month away from CPF Toronto 2022, and the return of in-person agent training in Canada! Today we're going to tell you about what to expect at CPF Toronto, as well as some suggestions for you to make the most out of your experience.

When you arrive in Toronto

The majority of the action will take place at the ILAC Dream Building on Bloor Street East (check out our map). Most agents are staying at either the Royal Sonesta Hotel or the Kimpton Saint George Hotel. You will be able to walk, take the TTC (Toronto's streetcar and subway system), or grab a shuttle bus to and from ILAC's Dream Building.

Bloor Street East contains an exciting cross-sample of Toronto's dynamic communities. The area is also home to Toronto's famous high-end shopping, known as the Mink Mile.

If you are an international or out-of-province agent, you will find your CPF Toronto registration and welcome package waiting for you in your hotel room with your own personal schedule.

Friday, May 6

If you are an educator registered for the ILAC Student Fair, head over to the Toronto Reference Library to meet with ILAC Pathway and local international students. We are expecting over 1,000 students eager to meet in person with higher education institutions from across Canada.

Friday night

Catch up with colleagues at the CPF Welcome Reception at the Proof Bar & Lounge, located on the ground floor of the Royal Sonesta Hotel and hosted by our friends at ApplyBoard. Join us for drinks and appetizers as we reunite in person for the first time in... years! Just be careful not to stay up too late, as Saturday morning you will need to get up early for the main CPF event.

Saturday, May 7

Make sure you arrive at the ILAC Dream Building for 8:30 a.m. We'll kick things off at 8:45 a.m. with a welcome from Jonathan Kolber, ILAC's CEO and then the first session will begin at 9 a.m. Each session will be 30 minutes long followed by a 30-minute break. One session and its break add up to an hour, which means a new session will begin every hour on the hour (10 a.m., 11 a.m., etc.).

New this year, each educational institution will have their own room. Agents will receive schedules to attend presentation sessions in small groups.

The 30-minute breaks will be your chance to network with agents, educators and exhibitors, as well as help yourself to the plenty of food and drink we'll have available all day sponsored by our friends at Fanshawe College. The last session will end at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday night

Saturday night is Canadian Pub Night! Join us for dinner and drinks at our local watering hole, the Firkin on Bay, hosted by our friends at guard.me International Insurance.

Sunday, May 8

Sunday will be similar to Saturday, except that there will be no welcome speech. Make sure you arrive at the ILAC Dream Building before the first session begins at 9 a.m. Like Saturday, the last session will end at 4:30 p.m., with food and refreshments available all day sponsored by Fanshawe College.

Sunday night

Sunday night is the biggest night of all as we will be celebrating ILAC's 25th Anniversary! You'll want to dress to impress in silver and black for this special evening. Join us at the historic Distillery District for food, drinks, and dancing as we celebrate 25 years of Dreaming Big at ILAC, hosted by our friends at Georgian College.

That brings you to the end of CPF Toronto 2022, but there is still much more to explore! Check out the full program to learn about earlier events like our new Pre-CPF Local Sessions on May 5th presented by Air Canada and the many Fam Tours offered before ICEF Toronto.

Safe travels and see you next month in Toronto!
