The Honourable Anne Kang, Minister of Post Secondary Education & Future Skills to open CPF Vancouver

ILAC is excited to announce that the Honourable Anne Kang, Minister of Post Secondary Education and Future Skills, will provide the official welcome at CPF Vancouver 2025.
Anne Kang was first elected as the MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) for Burnaby-Deer Lake (now Burnaby Centre) in 2017. In November 2024, she was appointed Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, and previously served as Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training, Minister of Municipal Affairs, and Minister of Citizen’s Services. She has also been the Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors and Parliamentary Secretary for Multiculturalism.
As an immigrant from Taiwan, Anne has lived in Burnaby for over 40 years and has been an active community volunteer since the age of eight.
Before becoming an MLA, Anne served three terms as a Burnaby City Councillor and was a leader in various organizations focused on community building and supporting vulnerable populations. Her commitment to community was recognized in 2012 when she was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee for her contribution to Canada.
Anne has a passion for life-long learning. She completed her post-secondary education at UBC, receiving a Bachelor of Music, a Bachelor of Education – Elementary, a Diploma in Special Education – Learning Disability, and a Master degree in Special Education - Gifted and Creative Learner, and completed two levels of Montessori Certification. Before being elected MLA of Burnaby-Deer Lake, she was a music teacher in the Burnaby school system.
Over 400 international education delegates are registered for CPF Vancouver 2025, including international and on-shore education agents and representatives from Canadian colleges, universities and related services.
The Honourable Anne Kang will speak at the Opening Reception at CPF Vancouver on Friday, May 9.
